In a Facebook video posted on Monday, the man, identified by Fox 8 as Joshua Bell, asked his girlfriend Kiana Myrick a series of marriage-themed questions in Family Feud format.
Myrick’s jaw drops and is visibly shocked by the surprise proposal as her family gleefully celebrates.
“I love you with all of my heart,” Bell said, as Myrick wipes away tears of joy. “A lot of people may say we are young, but I say life is too short.
“Through everything we’ve been through, baby, we managed to keep God first. And now eight years later, we’re here –I’m looking for 88 more,” he added. “Will you marry me?”
According to Fox News, the Canadian Broadcasting Company (CBC) deleted Donald Trump’s five-second scene from their recent broadcast of the 1992 movie Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. It was all anyone could talk about on conservative media yesterday, with one host on the show Fox & Friends calling it “censorship.”
President Trump even tweeted and retweeted about the deletion of his scene threetimeslast night. But there’s a simple explanation, and it has nothing to do with censorship.
According to the CBC, the scene was edited out back in 2014, long before Trump would announce his candidacy in June of 2015—that infamous escalator ride that ended with Trump calling Mexicans rapists. And Trump’s short scene wasn’t the only thing that got cut in Canada.
“As is often the case with feature films adapted for television, Home Alone 2 was edited for time,” CBC spokesperson Chuck Thompson told his own news network on Thursday.
“The scene with Donald Trump was one of several that were cut from the movie as none of them were integral to the plot. These edits were done in 2014, when we first acquired the film and before Mr. Trump was elected president.”
The scene is incredibly brief and Trump has just one line, telling Kevin McCallister, played by Macaulay Culkin, that the lobby is “down the hall and to the left.” Oddly enough, Kevin takes a right.
As CNN notes, roughly 8 minutes were cut from the Canadian broadcast of Home Alone 2 that has aired every Christmas since 2014, including other scenes where Kevin goes swimming and a scene where a homeless person warns to “watch it, kid.” The cut scenes aren’t vital to the plot and are only deleted to make room for commercials. Canadian viewers take to social media every year to complain about the deletions, most of which have nothing to do with Trump.

But that didn’t stop craven media outlets like Fox News from reporting on this potential declaration of war from Canada nonstop yesterday. The excised scene didn’t just lead with the news in the morning during Fox & Friends, the network also complained about the deletion during The Five, with host Jesse Watters calling the scene with Trump, “one of the most interesting parts of the movie.”
“It was a liberal edit. If you want to edit for time, take out the crazy pigeon lady in Central Park,” Watters said.
That may be a reasonable suggestion in Trumpland, but of course, the far right host had to go and make it weird, claiming that Canada was “rewriting history.”
“When you look at what they did, it’s rewriting history because what Trump was in the early 90s, he was a tycoon that was admired and embraced by American culture, by Hollywood, by the entertainment industry,” Watters continued. “This was a family-friendly film. Liberals can’t accept it so they want to deny it and it makes them look petty.”

The period between Christmas and New Year’s tends to be a pretty slow time for news, so it might make sense that Fox News is spending all day complaining about something so dumb. But there are plenty of other stories that might be worth covering. As just one example, three people have died in U.S. immigration custody in the past week.
U.S. officials announced late Thursday that a 41-year-old woman died on Christmas Day while in the custody of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
“In the early morning of December 25, 2019, while awaiting final processing and release, the individual notified CBP officers that she was suffering from abdominal pain and had vomited,” a press release from CBP states.
“CBP contacted EMS immediately and the individual was transported to the Laredo Medical Center for a medical evaluation. The subject’s health declined rapidly and she passed away at the hospital.”
According to CBP, the woman, originally from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, had presented herself with her family to immigration officials in Laredo, Texas, presumably for asylum. The unnamed woman had a “previous medical condition,” according to CBP, but had been “cleared by on-site contracted medical personnel.”

U.S. Custom and Border Protection, an organization under the Department of Homeland Security, has a long history of lying about its own policies and the treatment of asylum seekers at its facilities, so it’s tough to tell what actually happened. But whatever it was, it seems much more important news than Donald Trump’s five-second scene getting cut from a TV broadcast in Canada.
But what do I know? I’m not the President of the United States, setting the agenda for the wealthiest nation in the world.

Vic Mensa says rappers are doing serious harm when their lyrics promote lean, Percocet and Xanax abuse -- 'cause it's killing kids, in general, and specifically ... Juice WRLD.
We got Vic out at Delilah in WeHo and wanted his take on Lil Pump dropping "Drug Addicts" from his setlist at L.A.'s Rolling Loud Festival ... and instead opting for a tribute with Juice's hit single, "Lucid Dreams."
Vic gave a nod to Pump for the gesture, but he added hip-hop needs to take responsibility for Juice WRLD's death. He pulls no punches, saying rap lyrics glorifying drugs sends a dangerous message to fans ... especially young ones.
As we reported ... Juice WRLD died after allegedly swallowing a bunch of pills, and suffering a fatal seizure. Vic says Juice dying at 21 has impacted him to the point he's gonna rework his lyrics.
Vic, who's been open about his past addiction and depression issues, says Juice WRLD's death hit him hard because he realizes how easily that could've been him.
President Donald Trump on Thursday appeared to joke about his cameo being cut from the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation’s version of "Home Alone 2: Lost in New York."
“I guess Justin T doesn’t much like my making him pay up on NATO or Trade! The movie will never be the same! (just kidding).”

“I guess Justin T doesn’t much like my making him pay up on NATO or Trade!,” Trump tweeted, referring to Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
“The movie will never be the same! (just kidding),” Trump added.
Sharp viewers blasted the state-owned broadcaster earlier Thursday after noticing Trump’s scene was missing from the 1992 sequel, which aired earlier in the month.
In the iconic holiday film, Macaulay Culkin's character, Kevin McCallister, walks into the Plaza Hotel by himself as he is separated from his family. He runs into a passerby played by Trump and asks, "Excuse me, where's the lobby?"
"Down the hall and to the left," Trump responds as he towers over a young Culkin.
The CBC said the movie wasn’t edited for political purposes, but rather to allow for commercial breaks.
“As is often the case with features adapted for television, Home Alone 2 was edited to allow for commercial time within the format,” Chuck Thompson, head of public affairs at the CBC, said in a statement.

Leaked images of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s Christmas cards have officially hit the internet, and royal experts believe there may be a secret message in their holiday greetings. The card features the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge alongside their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. So why do royal experts believe there is a hidden message in such an innocent photo?

Prince William and Kate Middleton’s Christmas card gets leaked
Kensington Palace has not released William and Kate’s Christmas
card for 2019. The card was leaked, however, by a fan who was lucky enough to
receive the card in the mail.
It is unclear who leaked the image, but Camilla Tominey, an expert on the royal family, believes the photo contains a hidden message about the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
According to Express,
Tominey revealed that the card contains a holiday theme and that someone posted
the card on Twitter without the royal family’s consent.
“I can’t tell you what is in it but there is going to be
some lovely festive imagery released in the run-up to Christmas day,” she
stated.
Royal staffers have not reacted to the leaked image of Prince
William, Kate Middleton and their children, though Tominey says the palace has
not released the image because of what happened on social media. We cannot
confirm that the card in question is the real deal, though Tominey believes it
contains a hidden message.
Is there really a hidden message?
Tominey argued that the Cambridges’ Christmas card was meant to
put forth a theme of unity. The royal expert says that Prince William and Kate
Middleton did their best to act completely normal in the photo to show fans
that nothing is amiss.
“This lady is not in any trouble. This is a relaxed
shot,” she stated.
Although Kensington Palace has not shared the couple’s card,
Tominey believes William and Kate will post more endearing photos in the coming
days.
The Christmas card fiasco, meanwhile, comes amid a drama-packed year for the royal family. In recent months, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle opened up about their struggles with the media and Harry’s ongoing feud with Prince William.
To make things worse, Prince Andrew has been in the hot seat over
his ties to the disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein. Andrew was forced to step
down from his royal duties a few weeks ago after a disastrous interview about
the scandal.
The Cambridges set to make an important announcement
Prince William and Kate’s Christmas card is certainly up for
interpretation. While we wait for an official release, royal expert Omid Scobie
believes the Cambridges are about to make a big announcement.
Scobie was recently at a briefing inside Kensington Palace where
he was informed of the couple’s intention to release some news.
An announcement from the royals is rare during the holiday season as most of them are taking a break from official duties.
“Next year is going to be busy for the Cambridges,”
Scobie shared. “There was a briefing at Kensington Palace just this week
where they gave us a number of new announcements that will be coming out over
the holiday period.”
Scobie did not release any details about the announcement, but he
did assure fans that 2020 is going to be an important year for Prince William
and Kate Middleton. The couple has been swamped by a number of different rumors
in recent months, including pregnancy talk, so there is no telling what they
are preparing to announce in 2020.
Prince William and Kate Middleton fight bad optics
Until we learn more, William and Kate have been working hard to
repair their image after an awkward scene unfolded on television earlier this
month.
The two, who have faced rumors that their marriage is on the rocks, got a lot of backlash when Kate seemingly shrugged off Prince William’s attempt at affection during a TV special. William was shown putting his arm around Kate, who quickly gave him a shoulder shrug to avoid PDA.
The awkward scene drew comparisons to when Melania Trump swatted
Donald Trump’s hand away during a public event a few years ago.
Although fans were convinced Kate was wanting zero affection from
William, sources claim that the clip was taken completely out of context. Kate
apparently gave William plenty of affection prior to the scene in question,
though it is hard to defend her apparent shrug.
Considering all of the rumors the royals have fought in 2019 alone, it makes perfect sense that Prince William and Kate Middleton would take a completely normal Christmas photo. That said, Princess Diana did the same during her holiday photos with Prince Charles, and the couple was anything but happy.
When I saw Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker for the second time in theaters, I had two thoughts when I left:
“Whatever Rotten Tomatoes says, I still genuinely enjoyed that movie.”
“Man, they really screwed over Kelly Marie Tran, huh?”
After the film’s release, I made a list of “corrections” and “fixes” that JJ Abrams made to both The Last Jedi and his own fist movie The Force Awakens. (Spoilers follow) These contain major beats, like Snoke and Rey’s origins, or more minor ones I appreciated, like leaning into Finn’s Force sensitivity. But I forgot one “correction,” Rose Tico’s reduced screen time, because she was seen for such a little amount of time that I genuinely even forgot she existed, and so I left her off my list completely in my first draft.
As it turns out, her screen time is even less than you might imagine. Slate clocks it at just 1 minute, 16 seconds in a 2 hour and 22 minute movie. And that’s being generous, with the author including things like her hugging Chewie in the background of the final scene, or the side of her face when Poe is talking. And it’s in sharp contrast to The Last Jedi, where she received almost ten times the screen time with 10 minutes and 53 seconds.
The saga of Kelly Marie Tran’s Rose Tico is a sad one, and perhaps the controversy that best sums up the recent toxicity surrounding the new Star Wars films. Fan critics of The Last Jedi pointed a lot of their rage over the film directly at Tran and Rose, citing her “useless” storyline with Finn as one of the things dragging down the film. And yet there were no cries to make her more “useful” with more screen time in The Rise of Skywalker, and that same crowd is celebrating her near-removal from the final chapter.
Rise of Skywalker
Disney
This is, of course, largely rooted in racism and sexism. This is not implied, this is explicit, as Kelly Marie Tran was chased off social media due to unrelenting racist harassment after The Last Jedi.
At first it seemed like those involved with Star Wars had her back. JJ Abrams famously said that casting Tran was the “greatest thing” Rian Johnson did (and it seems pretty clear now Abrams hated nearly everything else Johnson did). So if Rise of Skywalker was supposed to fix The Last Jedi’s “mistakes,” wouldn’t one of those be to perhaps give Rose a better storyline than she had?
Initially it looked like that might actually happen. In an interview before the cast saw the final cut of Rise of Skywalker for the first time, Tran spoke excitedly to IndieWire about new scenes with Rose, including some with Rey for the first time.
“I think it’s really cool at all that they are even in scenes together because in ‘Jedi’ we weren’t in any scenes together,” Tran said. “It was really cool to have feminine energy on set. I wish I could tell you more but I’m really excited for people to see [Rose and Rey] interact. They both have the some objective which is to fight for the things you believe in and the people you love.”
Ouch. I’m wincing just reading that.
If you’ve seen the film, you know that those scenes were nowhere to be found in the movie. In fact, Tran’s role is almost non-existent. I could see this coming in the film’s opening where Finn invites Rose to come along on their grand adventure which has room for a Wookie and three droids, but she declines, saying that she must stay behind to study Star Destroyers. Truly, the most crucial of objectives.
The rest of Rose’s role in the film is sitting at home base, occasionally speaking on the radio, and then briefly getting in on the action in the climax, though Finn and Jannah are the ones doing the heroic acts as Rose just frets about them over the radio.
Rise of Skywalker
Disney
Whatever potential romance she had with Finn has completely fizzled, or at the very least, been scrubbed away in edits. Finn doesn’t even get an alternative, either. Abrams and Boyega swear Finn wasn’t going to confess feeling for Rey, he isn’t romantically linked to Jannah, and Disney was too chicken to go through with the Finn-Poe pairing. That leaves plenty of room for Rose’s arc to continue and conclude with Finn, and yet it’s just completely missing, as are other, non-boy-related scenes she was supposed to have with Rey. And who knows what else was left on the cutting room floor.
It’s not like actors have never had their role reduced through editing before. But this, more so than other Last Jedi "fixes,” feels like a cowardly response to two years of constant abuse of Tran, the lesson being that if you hate a character, and in turn, an actor, enough, you can influence directors and writers and megacorps to cut them out of your favorite franchise.
I’ve seen some comparisons of Rose with Jar Jar Binks, which is offensive on about three different levels. While I’ll agree that Rose could have used a better storyline than the casino planet in TLJ, her character beats, her performance and her relationship with Finn was stellar and deserved more explanation. Jar Jar was a horrendously conceived character from the start and yet even he was treated better in the subsequent films than Rose was here, her entire arc concluding with a hug from Chewbacca and little else. This was barely one step above just writing out her out completely by saying her ship crashed on the way back to her home planet.
All of this has been thoroughly gross. Yes, on the part of the fans who harassed her, but also what Abrams did her by cutting her role down to nothing, despite going out of his way to proclaim what a big fan he was of Tran’s.
The logical end of this story is for Kelly Marie Tran to hopefully land a starring role in the next Rian Johnson Knives Out-like megahit. But Rose? Rose will never find justice now.
The Mandalorian has been a huge success on Disney+, but one question that's been on our minds was: what is it like wearing all of that armour?
Digital Spy spoke with Emily Swallow – who plays the Armorer on the Star Wars TV series – and the star said that getting around in the armour provided some interesting challenges.
"I'm relieved to see that it looks a lot better than it felt," she laughed. "I hope at some point, they release a bloopers reel, because when you get a couple of Mandalorians in a room together in that armour and in those helmets, it can get ridiculous!
Lucas Film/Disney +
"You've no peripheral vision and you can't see down, so you're kind of wandering around in blind faith that you're not going to trip or run into somebody. And we discovered early on that every single movement is magnified because of how much focus the armour and the masks draw.
"So you can't really have any extraneous movement."
Swallow added: "I was glad that the Armorer is a very deliberate character and she moves slowly. It gave me time to kind of just breathe and settle and be very mindful of how I was moving, because a little bit of movement communicated a lot.
"I really hope at some point we get to see some of the behind-the-scenes stuff, because it was hilarious when we were trying to navigate the space together."
Diana Ragland
Swallow – known for playing Amara in Supernatural as well as roles in How to Get Away with Murder and SEAL Team – also shared that being on set felt special and recalled Star Wars creator George Lucas paying a visit one day.
"It was so cool just walking onto the set and seeing the incredible thoughtfulness that was put into every single set-piece and every single prop," she said. "All the weapons that my character uses were just created with such care.
"And it felt like everyone that was involved just had this incredible love and this incredible respect for the Star Wars universe.
"One of the first days I was on set, shooting the first episode, George Lucas actually came to visit. He was coming to surprise [The Mandalorian creator] Jon Favreau for his birthday. And everyone who was around that day just hung out for a while and listened to him tell stories.
"It really did feel like we were part of this incredible lineage of these beautiful and fantastical stories that he created decades ago and that persist because of the heart of them. There are so many characters in the Star Wars universe that we fell in love with and that keep drawing us back in.
"No matter what the technology, no matter what the new villains are, George Lucas really created something enduring. And so to be a part of that, it just made me giddy. It was so exciting."
The Mandalorian is available on Disney+. The streaming platform comes to the UK in March 2020.
